FKN Federation
Nationwide Federation of Disabled Supporters
Nationwide Federation of Disabled Supporters
The idea and establishment of the Federation resulted from the collaboration between Supporters’ Clubs, Associations, and Foundations, which, year after year, have been growing stronger in their respective cities and regions, boldly entering the non-governmental organization sector. In 2015, eleven local centers decided that the Federation was a necessary and purposeful structure, leading to its official registration in the National Court Register (KRS) in 2016.
The Federation actively engages and collaborates with various entities in areas such as DSLO training, ticket distribution for Poland’s national team matches, expert support in accommodating fans with disabilities at stadiums, consultations on adapting sports facilities, and other related activities.
What do we do?
Support for Fans
We provide comprehensive support for fans with disabilities, helping them fully participate in sporting events. We offer information on stadium accessibility, assistance during matches, and help in solving individual challenges related to attending sports events.
Collaboration with Clubs
We actively work with sports clubs, advising them on accessibility and inclusivity. We support clubs in creating dedicated sections for fans with disabilities and implementing solutions to improve comfort and safety at stadiums.
Organizing Away Trips
We coordinate group trips to matches. Our experience allows us to organize safe and comfortable travel, enabling fans with disabilities to support their teams at away games.
Education
We conduct training sessions and workshops for stadium staff, volunteers, and other supporters to increase awareness of the needs of people with disabilities. We organize educational campaigns that promote inclusivity in sports and society.
Infrastructure Development
We work with clubs and stadium managers to improve stadium accessibility. We provide guidance on the design and adaptation of venues to meet the needs of all fans, regardless of their abilities.
Community Integration
We organize integration events, workshops, and conferences that bring together fans with disabilities, club representatives, and sports organizations. We build a strong community based on mutual support and understanding.
Representation of Fans
We act as an advocate for the rights of fans with disabilities, representing their interests in discussions with clubs, sports federations, and authorities. We actively participate in shaping policies and regulations concerning accessibility in sports.
Accessibility
We work to increase the accessibility of sporting events at all levels. This includes not only physical accessibility at stadiums but also access to information, tickets, and match broadcasts. We promote solutions such as audio description and dedicated areas for fans with various disabilities.
Our Mission
Development and professionalization of supporter initiatives for people with disabilities
The primary goal of the Federation is the development of the Polish disabled supporters’ community. This means supporting local and club initiatives and incorporating new centers into our structure, ensuring that barrier-free support spreads as widely as possible in Poland.
The Federation of Disabled Supporters (FKN) serves as the natural representative of the disabled supporters’ community in Poland. FKN is an official partner of the Polish Football Association (PZPN), and in 2016, an agreement was signed between the two entities. This agreement regulates cooperation, knowledge exchange, sharing experiences and resources, and undertaking strategic actions to activate the community of disabled supporters in Poland.
